Inauguration of Kaliti Waste Water Treatment Plant

On July 7th 2018 an inauguration of Kaliti waste water treatment plant took place in Addis. Different governmental officials including His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen, Mayor of Addis Ababa Mr. Diriba Kuma, Director of AWSSA Mr. Awoke Hailemariam & also World Bank ambassador to Ethiopia & Sudan Mrs. Carolyn Turk with different Ambassadors have attained the event.

The project was built with 250 million dollars loan from World Bank, which it will support other major projects in five cities. The plant can treat 100,000 m3 of waste water per day & 1 million residents living in seven sub-cities will be beneficiaries. And also this plant will increase the city’s waste water treatment by tenfold.

Engineer Michael Abrha, Deputy General Manager of ASER Construction plc has received certificate for the successful implementation of the project.
It is known that ASER Construction has participated on this project mainly on the process of pipe installation which covers a 22 km construction work.

Finally a ribbon cutting & official opening ceremony performed by the Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen.
