ASER, CGCOC signed JV Agreement with AAWSA to Construct Water Supply Project

ASER Construction PLC and Chinese based CGCOC Group Co. Ltd.  has signed a joint venture agreement with Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority (AAWSA) to construct Legedadi phase II water supply project (Lot I) on Friday June 2, 2017.

As of the contract agreement, the major scope of the project includes construction of water supply with a capacity of at least 43,000 m3 per day from the productions of the a capacity of source, construction of at least one reinforced concrete reservoir with a capacity of 2000m3 and installation of at least 18 km pipe line length with a diameter of greater or equal to DN 500mm.

The project duration given to complete the project is 2 years and the contract amount is 749,000,000 Ethiopian birr and the consulting firm assigned for the project is Water works Design and Supervision Enterprise.

Tesfalem Baye, General Manager with Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage project office on the occasion at which a total of 6 water supply and sewerage projects were awarded to Chinese and other local contractors, said that the agreed projects are among the works the Authority has planned to construct in the budget year and the total costs of the projects exceeds 1.9 billion Birr and the City Administration is the Financier of the project.

He also said that the agreed projects when completed will play a vital role in solving the water supply and sewerage problems of the city.

Yemane Abreha, General Manager of ASER Construction on his part giving appreciation to Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority said that using the vast experience the company had on similar projects, will complete the project according to the stipulated design and quality within the given project duration.
